For many Veterans, remaining at home means staying close to family, familiar routines, neighbors, pets, and the community they know. Our role is to provide dependable non-medical support that makes that independence more sustainable.
Care is built around the person—not a one-size-fits-all schedule. Support can complement family caregiving, private-pay care, and, when applicable, authorized programs or benefits.
Respite and day-to-day assistance can help family caregivers share responsibility and reduce caregiver burden.
Support can be adjusted as routines, mobility, family availability, and care needs change.

Common VA Pathways That May Support Care at Home
The Department of Veterans Affairs—not Acaste—determines eligibility, clinical need, authorization, benefit amounts, and participating-provider requirements. These programs are different from one another and should not be treated as interchangeable.
Homemaker & Home Health Aide Care
For eligible Veterans who need personal care and help with daily activities. VA states that services are based on assessed need and can help Veterans remain living at home.

Questions Families Commonly Ask
How do we get started with Acaste Veteran Care?
Start by telling us what support the Veteran needs, including daily routines, personal-care needs, mobility, meals, companionship, family support, preferred schedule, and location. We will confirm what falls within Acaste's non-medical scope and current availability. If VA funding is being considered, the Veteran's VA care team determines eligibility and authorization. Once service and payment arrangements are confirmed, we can organize care around the Veteran's schedule, preferences, goals, and family support system.
Is Acaste Care Solutions part of the Department of Veterans Affairs?
No. Acaste Care Solutions is an independent, veteran-owned home care company and is not part of the Department of Veterans Affairs. Acaste is currently pursuing participation as a community provider in the VA Community Care Network, with the goal of becoming a VA community care partner for authorized Veteran services. Until that enrollment and contracting process is completed, VA eligibility, referrals, authorizations, covered services, and payment remain determined by the VA and its Community Care Network administrators.
Does a Veteran have to be service-connected to receive VA home-care support?
Not every VA home- and community-based service uses the same eligibility rules. VA states that enrolled Veterans may qualify for Homemaker/Home Health Aide or Veteran-Directed Care when community-care and clinical criteria are met and the service is available. The VA care team makes the determination.
Can a surviving spouse receive help through VA benefits?
Some pension-related benefits, including Aid & Attendance additions to a qualifying Survivors Pension, may be available to eligible surviving spouses. VA determines eligibility based on the applicable requirements.
Can Acaste help with transportation and errands?
Transportation and errand support may be available as an Acaste service where permitted and operationally available. However, a particular VA program may not cover those services, so private-pay or another funding source may be needed.
Can home care supplement help already provided by family?
Yes. Non-medical home care can be scheduled around family availability and can provide personal care, companionship, meal support, mobility assistance, respite, and other permitted services.
Where should I start if I want to use VA resources?
For VA-funded home and community-based services, start with the Veteran's VA care team, social worker, or caregiver support team. They can assess needs and explain programs available in the Veteran's location.
